High Elms Manor has been described as ‘one of the finest and most dignified medium - sized estates in the county of Hertfordshire’. This was the opinion of Stafford Bourne, son of one of the founders of the London store, Bourne and Hollingsworth, who lived here with his parents and siblings for ten years, from 1911.
The entrance opens onto a large atrium with a lovely mosaic floor and a rounded transparent dome. The hallway leads to a comfortable panelled lounge, the Tudor room for dancing, can seat 60, whilst the ballroom is an elegant room with a large chandelier. It overlooks our magnificent lawns and woodland and will seat 110 guests for a formal meal.
Built before 1813 and situated in 21 acres of park and woodland. This is a very elegant single wedding venue.
The Evening Wedding Fair is a great informal way to meet some great wedding exhibitors, whilst enjoying this wonderful family owned wedding venue. Why not enjoy a cool drink on the veranda!
