We’ve just returned home from a lovely weekend stay at Drovers rest. It was a last minute find and we’re so pleased we found it.
The safari tents are great, well equipped with everything you need for camping trip. Beds are very comfy, heated blankets work well if needed.
The shower block is very clean and tidy.

A little jewel tucked away in a tranquil setting within 10 minutes from Hay on the Wye. Very friendly staff. A lovely collection of friendly farm animals to feed and walk amongst. Thoroughly recommended. It is a lovely place to chill out and relax. :)

We were after a more relaxed wedding and this certainly fitted the bill. The owners are laid back and never say no. We chose a spot on the estate no one had gotten married in before. Although it presented logistical challenges they totally made it happen and it was indeed magical. The food is also a huge highlight. All the food is cooked fresh on site and the guests see the amazing fire cooking. All our guests said it was the best food they have EVER had at a wedding

We planned our wedding to be a meeting of cultures. We had loads of guests coming from abroad as well and wanted them to have a beautiful location to come to. And really it was spectacular. The venue has stunning onsite accommodation and we could book the venue and catering for the entire weekend. They allow fire ceremonies and were well versed on Henna evenings and Sangeets. They helped take most of the planning out of the way. And made our day magical.

If you haven't thought of having a wedding away from where you live but in the UK, think again. We fell in love with the venue and what it had to offer then designed our wedding round it. I cannot tell you enough how special and wonderful it was and how many of our guests said spending the weekend together was so incredible. The wedding day itself goes by so quickly. So connecting with our friends and family before and after the wedding was wonderful. The food at Drovers is definitely one of the perks of having your wedding here. The food is absolutely delicious, all cooked on fires and sustainable sourced. They are experts at outdoor cooking and have a wonderful warm hospitality that comes from them being South African. Nothing is a problem. They are also laid back and nothing stresses them out. Which means we were also relaxed and laid back on the day. We loved the onsite accommodation where our guests stayed. They have more accommodation in the summer too with a pop up bell tent village. All is very tasteful with an eye for gorgeous decor. Highly recommend Drovers.

You know what its like all your mates are getting married and you want a different venue to the typical ones that represents you as a couple. Then we stumbled across Drovers. And we finally got excited about our big day. From the first email to the visit to the planning to the actual wedding day. Everything went so smoothly although I know behind the scenes a lot of fires had to be put out, from my grandmother asking for different food on the day of the wedding!! to some of our guests misbehaving very badly, rocking up at the venue the night before at midnight, to playing pranks on the groom at the expense of the accommodation!! What are they like!! During all of it Kesri and the team were amazing when at times I was ready to cry, she brushed off the incidents and concentrated on making my day magical. Thank you so much team at Drovers. You are the best.

We searched for a venue that mirrored us as a couple and stumbled across Drovers Rest Farm, A hidden Gem that is so stunning it took our breath away when we visited and we booked them on the spot. The farm itself is magical. It has history embedded in its roots, with stunning old stone buildings so beautifully and tastefully converted, maintaining a rustic charm with modern necessities. They Glamping options and really upmarket with all the glam. We loved that it was run by the family and extended family even their teenage children who are super cool. The animals Jake the Drake who comes to check things out and the Toffee the alpaca who eats apples from your mouth and the disco chickens. everything so absolutely quaint and dreamy. Our family wanted us to have a posh wedding at a country house and Drovers met both our needs. We all loved it and the food was simply outstanding. Sustainable, delicious and takes real skill preparing the food on the fires in front of all the guests throughout the day. The staff are all extremely friendly and it felt like we had our wedding at our extended family's farm rather than a booked venue. Definitely dent feel like a wedding factory like so many other venues we visited. Highly recommend if you are looking for a cool venue thats a bit different

The whole team at Drovers made our wedding weekend perfect from start to finish. The venue is ideal for a beautiful country side wedding where you and your guests can immerse yourself in the nature on the beautiful farm whilst enjoying the incredible food and hosting that Kesri and the staff tailor to your individual needs. Everything about this venue was perfect for our wedding. The accommodation, food, drinks, venue and staff helped create memories for us and our guests which we will cherish forever. Having the whole weekend to enjoy with our guests and our dog babies too made it even more special. Drovers will remain one of our favourite places and we can’t wait to return in the future to relive those memories.

The most perfect wedding. We couldn't have asked for it to be better. When we asked for a vegan wedding, we didn't expect the meat lovers to say how incredible the food was. The venue and the staff were absolutely wonderful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Drovers will be the most special place for us forever.
