We got married here on 13/8/2022. From start to finish, we had nothing but a lovely experience. We had to rearrange our wedding the year before due to covid and nothing at all was too much trouble. Joanne was so lovely, helpful and professional and made sure every single detail was taken care of and kept in contact with us the whole time. On the day itself, we were lucky enough to have our wedding outdoors in the sunshine, it was perfect. The room looked beautiful and everything was just how we wanted it. Bevan was so friendly and helpful and ensured everything ran as it should for us. The guests commented on how lovely the venue looked, the food was great but above all else the staff were fantastic. We must mention in particular, Tania, she worked so hard to ensure everything went so well, she really was amazing. She treated us so well and she is a credit to Holland Hall, all of the staff are. Local hotel awarded "highly recommended" status at industry awards. A hotel on the outskirts of Wigan borough has earned the status of "Highly Recommended" at the regional finals of the wedding industry's annual competition. Holland Hall Hotel in Up Holland, which dates back to the 16th century, was judged joint runner-up in the Venue (Hotel) category at The Wedding Industry Awards' 2023 North West Regional event held in Burnley on November 8. Bill Kenyon, owner of Holland Hall Hotel said: "It was Churchill who said words to the effect that when 'you're going through hell, keep going'. "There's no doubt the hospitality industry has gone through hell these past few years, as have the couples, families and friends who have seen multiple pandemic cancellations and postponements of weddings. "But today we're in wedding heaven - the team battled through the pandemic, then were faced with an economic downturn, staff shortages, price increases, you name it, but have come through to be named one of the best. "This award is for everyone at Holland Hall Hotel who has dug in, made weddings happen, rescued weddings when venues around the region have been forced into closure or had to take on Government asylum-seeker contracts simply to survive. "I feel for those businesses that have been backed into economic corners and had to make incredibly difficult decisions, but I feel proud of the Holland Hall Hotel team as they've delivered smile after smile for couples finally managing to tie the knot.” The hotel, which Mr Kenyon acquired in 2018, has undergone a £1m-plus refurbishment and restoration, creating a specialist event wing alongside updated rooms hotel accommodation. We got married here and honestly can't praise the staff enough. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. The food was delicious and all our guests commented on how lovely it was. The venue is beautiful and we have also visited for meals at The Pub and can highly recommend the Sunday Lunch with Live Entertainment. The BIG day was faultless!
Every father wants to give his daughter away in marriage. Well, for me that dream came true on Saturday. The Holland Hall team and I mean the team made the day so special to us. The whole process of organisation we were guided through in a professional manner from the start this journey. The BIG day was faultless and there is nothing we would have changed. The day was seem-less and just happened without us having to worry or stress about. Simple things like a slight spillage on the dress being sorted without fuss and any one noticing. Everyone we have spoken to commented on the venue and how everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Seemed like pre pandemic days! Even the horrendous weather didn't dampen things as the manager and staff made other areas available for seating & photos etc. The day didn't end there as a number of guests along with ourselves stayed the night. The rooms were beautiful and in keeping with the building but with contemporary enhancements. Breakfast was a continuation of the celebrations from the day before with everyone enjoying themselves with plenty of joy and laughter. Bacon was amazing. In fact all the food was exceptional and locally sourced. The happy couple were invited to a tasting day to decide on the menu which was a nice touch. The chef showed flexibility in the options. Canapés were a nice touch and went down a storm. Bevan and his staff have been a major part of making a father, mother, daughter and son in law dreams come true. I can't thank you enough. Keep up the good work and success upon success will follow.

Well what can we say? We had the most amazing experience at Holland Hall for our wedding. 6 weeks later and we still haven’t come down to earth. The venue was absolutely beautiful, we managed to get married outside due to the fantastic weather we had, that started the day off nicely, mind you the night before when we visited the venue to run through a few things they had set it up for an indoor ceremony and to be honest it was swaying us a little as the room was absolutely beautiful, but no we thought leave it to the Gods and the next day my wish had come true. I can’t thank the staff enough, Joanne, Tanya, Chris, the waiting on staff and DJ Col who played all the right music and kept the floor full all evening, not forgetting Tracey at Impress your Guests, the venue dresser who did a wonderful job supplying and setting up of the outside and inside, it was amazing. The setting and historical value of this venue is second to non and we just wish we could do it all again, we can highly recommend this venue and it’s staff to anyone having any kind of celebration you will be treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Thank you Holland Hall for making us feel special and all your hard work. Just one more thank you to the Chef and his team for the lovely canapés, the fantastic bbq and great late evening pizzas. We had booked our wedding at park hall hotel which went bust and won't refund our money, the owner bill & his managing director helped not only us but another 10 disappointed and upset couples by offering to help in anyway they possibly could and tried to match our dates to as close as possible to the dates we already had. They showed us round this beautiful place nothing was too much trouble and the place was lovely. We are so pleased these genuine people came to our saviour. I would recommend anyone to go and have a look around here and see for themselves what a lovely place it is and how lovely the staff are!

We had our wedding Friday 20.05.22, I don't really know where to start. We'd had two covid cancellations, then our venue went bust. Holland Hall stepped in to make it the most magical day EVER, with memories that will last forever. Thank you Holland Hall, we could not have wanted or expected a more perfect day, everything from the morning when no one was there to the very end of the evening when everyone had left and the morning when we were all worse for wear and had an amazing breakfast, the chef was second to none, all the food we ate was A class, top restaurant standard, thank you.
