About Lower House Farm
Weddings With a Wild Side.

Nestled in the Olchon Valley near Hereford in England's Herefordshire region, Lower House Farm is a picturesque barn wedding venue. Here, you can escape the world outside and reconnect with nature as you celebrate your once-in-a-lifetime day at the foot of the Black Mountains. Set amongst 70 acres of rolling hills, wildflower meadows, orchards, and streams, the property's charming 17th-century oak-framed barn has been lovingly restored. Take in the beautiful backdrop of the mountains, play lawn games in the meadows, or sneak off to the secret waterfall for some beautiful couple’s portraits. Then, as the sun goes down, toast marshmallows around the firepits and finish the day on a memorably charming note.

Facilities and Capacity

There are plenty of beautiful spots to choose from for hosting your ceremony at Lower House Farm, with stunning local churches or a ceremony at the farm. This includes the magnificent and ever popular oak tree sat on the edge of the Olchon Brook. If an outdoor ceremony isn't an option, there is also a wonderful covered yard space.

The oak-framed barn is an impressive space at the heart of the farm. It can seat up to 100 people for your wedding feast on long wooden tables and sheepskin-adorned benches. Come evening, there is the capacity for up to 140 guests to dance the night away. Light up the firepits and transform the barn into a dance floor, slip on your dancing shoes and make the evening one to remember.

My husband and I got married here in September 2023. We initially found the venue whilst trawling through google and it immediately caught our eye. Upon our initial viewing we fell in love with the gorgeous farm and surrounding landscape. Natalie, our wedding co-ordinator, was beyond helpful and made the whole process so easy and as stress free as possible.
The food tasting we went to a few months after choosing the venue made for some very difficult decisions, all of the food was amazing and I loved that it was locally/home grown.
We opted to stay at Old Great Marlborough, which is owned by Wild by Nature. It was the perfect size for 20 of us, and was in an idyllic setting just inside of Wales. The house itself was gorgeous and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to be surrounded by friends/family throughout. We spent all of our time outside enjoying the tennis courts, bbq, hot tub and massive grounds. It definitely made the day feel so much more relaxing and we were all able to get ready together which definitely lessened some of my nerves.
The set up day and our wedding day went by so smoothly, all thanks to Natalie and the staff at the venue who were so welcoming and made sure everything went by without a hitch. Our wedding day was beyond anything we could have dreamed of and I hope the few pictures I add will do it justice. All of the photos are from our amazing photographer Che Birch-Hayes. The food and drinks were a big hit, the rhubarb mules, pavlova and canapés, as a whole, are still talked about 6+ months on! The venue amazed everyone we spoke to and lots of people said they had no idea that such amazing countryside was nestled there. The weather was perfect and we spent the day outside in the sun and all evening dancing the night away with good food and drinks. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We cannot recommend Lower House Farm enough, we first viewed the venue in August 2021 and were so happy to finally get married in June 2023. The location is simply breath-taking and the venue and setting compliment each other perfectly, a beautifully cared for collection of barns and spaces which feel relaxed and welcoming.

The team at Lower House Farm were so attentive, both in the lead up to our wedding and on the day itself, delivering a brilliant service whilst remaining discrete and without imposing on our day.

The food was incredible and the portion sizes were super generous.

Myself and my husband are looking forward to attending future events at the farm, the place is incredibly special to us.

Beautiful location over looking the black mountains, staff were really friendly, food was incredible and the wedding coordinator did everything on the day so we never had to worry about anything. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

We booked our wedding at Lower House Farm two years in advance (during the pandemic) and throughout the whole lead up to our big day, the Wild By Nature team remained attentive, accommodating, thoughtful and supportive in every way you could ask for! Their venue absolutely sang in the Autumn sunshine and we were so thrilled to be able to have our ceremony under their stunning oak tree. Having the wedding breakfast in the restored barn on their long feasting tables gave it exactly the convivial, generous feeling we were going for. We really appreciated the team going the extra mile and securing an extra license to be able to have our ceilidh band play in their covered courtyard. The team’s help with set up and take down made a huge difference to our experience. Last but by no means least, the food was exceptional! From the canapés to the drinks, the incredible slow roast hogget to the fantastic curries, our guests were so impressed by the quality (and quantity) of food and drink on offer. If you are looking for a relaxed venue that will make you fall in love with the outdoors all over again and food that will keep you and your guests talking for months, this is the venue for you.

A great venue with amazing food. We got married here, so it's very special to us, the setting and staff were great. We've also been to another wedding here, and another 'feast' in the autumn. You can't beat the food, locally sourced meat on their, and other local farms.

There's a beautiful, big Oak tree at the bottom of the field, with a little stream below. And post the farm house is a little waterfall that's worth the 5 minute walk, but be sure to wear boots, as it's quite boggy if it's been raining.

Lower House Farm is a special and magical place, as are all of the team who work there. We knew as soon as we visited that we wanted to get married at this beautiful venue. Rustic, natural, relaxed and effortlessly beautiful. We worked with Natalie, the wedding coordinator, who was an absolute dream. She was funny, kind, responsive and always quick to answer any questions or adapt to changing requests. Honestly Natalie and the team were simply stellar and hands down the easiest part of planning the wedding. On the day everything was perfect and the guests are still raving about the food!!! The pavlova is to die for, no joke!. If you're looking for a gorgeous natural venue, with an intimate feel and lots of support and freedom to make your day special and reflect you as a couple, then look no farther than Lower House Farm. The venue has so many beautiful spaces and is a stunner whether its rain or shine. We hope to be back for their other events many years in to the future. Thank you all again for such a perfect day. You are magic makers!

We had the most brilliant wedding at Lower House Farm in May 2023. We chose it because we wanted somewhere beautiful where we could be ourselves, and the lovely team at Wild by Nature let us do just that. The staff are incredible and couldn’t have done more for us whilst also giving us the freedom to make the place our own for our big day. We’re big foodies and all our friends and family raved about the incredible food! The pavlova and evening curries particularly went down a storm! We’d definitely recommend Wild by Nature to anyone looking for a wedding venue. It has all the classic elements with quirky details, amazing staff and a stunning location. It’s perfect 💛 and thank you especially to Natalie and Nicole, who are just brilliant!

Wow - we are still on cloud nine after our wedding at Lower House Farm last week. It was the most beautiful location to get married, with incredibly delicious food, amazing staff and a wonderful place to stay for the weekend.

We felt fully supported every step of the way by Natalie, who also helped coordinate on the day which was especially important to us as we did most of it ourselves.

It was important to us that we got married somewhere with space outside, locally sourced food and a relaxed atmosphere and Lower House Farm was just that. We cannot recommend it enough.

Our guests had the most wonderful day and all agreed it was well worth travelling for - some as far as Dublin, Perth and Vancouver!

If we could do it all over again this week, we would in a heartbeat!

Thank you - Lauren & Rob
