‘Weddings at Bannockburn House’ is new to the Scottish wedding industry, but we have ambitious plans, with our very first Wedding Fayre taking place in April 2022. We offer our venue with couples able to build on and customise their wedding to suit themselves, making it truly bespoke. With its blend of history and romance, Bannockburn House itself is, we believe, is a very special venue which will appeal to couples looking for something that little bit different with the chance to create a wedding experience unique to themselves. The historic Laigh Hall with its beautiful, ornate ceiling and minstrels’ gallery is the perfect ceremony room. Ancient stone stairs lead to the first floor allowing couples to literally walk in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his sweetheart Clementina Walkinshaw as they make their way to the romantic Charlie room for that perfect photo. After the ceremony the Victorian extension provides spacious reception rooms that can be customised to suit any taste, leading out into the extensive gardens surrounded by ancient woodland. Bannockburn House is a hire only venue and costs £1,000 for exclusive use of the house and grounds for a wedding. This also includes the day prior to the wedding and the day after. We can hold intimate ceremonies in the house for up to 60 guests and externally there is an option to erect a marquee/tipi on our south lawn with recommended numbers of up to 250 people. On Sunday 26th February 2023, the magnificent Michelham Priory House & Gardens near Hailsham in East Sussex is throwing open its doors from 11am to 3pm to host a fabulous Sussex Wedding Showcase. With hand-picked, preferred suppliers from across Sussex, a chance to visit the historic house, barn, moat and grounds, and opportunities to meet specialist wedding experts, this event is not one you’ll want to miss! Set within the priory’s stunning Grade II listed Tudor mansion and Elizabethan Great Barn, the Sussex Wedding Showcase will provide couples, their families and friends with the inspiration to plan their perfect, special day. The Prior’s Chamber in the house will be themed for winter weddings on the day, while in the Elizabethan Great Barn the focus will be on summer weddings. All guests will receive: • A welcome drink on arrival, which can be enjoyed inside the beautiful Elizabethan Great Barn decked out for the perfect wedding • A chance to see Michelham’s Tudor mansion, home to the Prior’s Chamber, a smaller and more intimate ceremony space • The chance to meet dozens of local suppliers from caterers to florists, photographers to dress providers, all under one roof. • A free goodie bag to take away.
