The Great Barn is a breathtakingly beautiful 15th Century barn venue (with its impressive 45 foot high ceilings) located about 8 miles outside of Exeter on the edge of Dartmoor. It is a beautiful, exclusive-use wedding venue, set in the grounds of a private estate, offering weekend weddings from Friday-Sunday, and occasional midweek weddings if desired. It has a capacity of 250 (plus 70 in the adjoining round house) when standing; a capacity of 168 sitting at round tables, and 198 at long tables. Also available on site is luxurious accommodation for up to 30 guests in a variety of stylishly renovated stone cottages. Afterwards, the ancient formal gardens are just a stroll away, across the medieval Courtyard. Churston Court is a former manor house of exceptional historical interest. Situated in a rural enclave just outside Brixham, the sea is only a few minutes’ walk away at Elberry Cove, while the Dartmouth Steam Railway calls at nearby Churston Station. The house is dripping with atmosphere, with its old paintings, tapestries, four-poster beds and suits of armour. The hotel stands in its own grounds, with a large car park, terrace and lawn. Although within minutes of both Brixham and Paignton, Churston Court is in deep countryside, with wooded hills and country lanes all around.
