Discovery Museum is housed in the old Co-operative Wholesale Society building, Blandford House. Opening in 1899, it quickly became an iconic building in Newcastle city centre. Blandford House became a museum in 1978 and was re-launched as Discovery Museum in 1993.

We pride ourselves on creating perfect wedding days – or, more accurately, the wedding day that’s perfect for you. However you’d like it to happen, we’ll plan it that way, and fill it with so many magical and memorable moments for you and your guests. And because we take care of everything, there’ll be no hassle or worries for you. Nestled right in the heart of Newcastle city centre, our hotel is the perfect year-round venue. The breath-taking Grade II listed hotel has lots of original Victorian features including high ceilings and large windows, combined to create a picturesque setting to provide an idyllic backdrop for your dream wedding. Choose from the traditional oak wood panelled Mozart Suite overlooking the stunning 19th century architecture of Newcastle Central train station, or the County Suite with its high vaulted ceiling and original stained glass windows. Ellingham hall is a privately owned venue set in eight stunning acres of Northumbrian countryside. The Estate includes the elegant country house, seven luxury cottages and extensive gardens for a unique and entirely exclusive two-night wedding experience to remember.
